Inspirational Mondays - "What's in your Memory Box?"

It's Inspirational Mondays!!!

Here's a great Inspirational Message for you to live by during the week.

"Remember, you are not here by accident; you are here on purpose, for a purpose. You are important. Your life is important. How you live is important, and it matters in eternity.

If you haven't thought about that lately, I encourage you to open the memory box of your heart. Take a look at things your Heavenly Father has collected and preserved for you over the years of your life—value, significance, purpose, destiny. Let them be the foundation for the way you see yourself so you can have the confidence to be everything He's created you to be!" - Victoria Osteen

Happy Monday to you all

Have a blessed and prosperous week.

Funny Kiddy Story - "Narcolepsy?"

It's Wordful Wednesdays over at Angie's spot. Click on her button below to link up and post some cute pics of your own!

This here is a pic of Munckin # 2 at the dinner table last week!

Yes folks, he's actually sleeping AND snoring at the dinner table. It seems simple enough, he's a kid and he's probably tired. What you can't see is the fact that literally SECONDS before this pic, he was up and alert and eating. This isn't the first time this happened.

Click here, here and here to see other examples of him falling in DEEP sleep at random times after being active and alert seconds before.

We get a kick outta making fun of this and even crack jokes that he's a little narcoleptic so I ran it by his doctor earlier this week when he did his check up and duh duh duh to me, apparently kids aren't supposed to be snoring so this IS a problem.

I was immediately given a referral to an ENT and his appt's booked for June.
This is something that can actually progress and lead to serious narcolepsy or other serious problems as an adult and of course I wouldn't be ok with my poor lil munchkin having to go through that so we're gonna nip it in the bud right away.

The doc was also concerned that if he continues snoring and start gasping for air while sleeping/snoring, eventually this will affect his lungs and he'll start pulling blood into his lungs. This can also cause heart problems for him. GEESH!! I had no idea a little snoring could be so harmful for kids!!

I'm just glad that I had the sense to bring it up at his appt.
Moral of the story, pay attention to these simple little things that might seem odd or funny and not too serious because they can lead to serious issues as your lil ones grow.

Happy Hump Day everyone!!

Attn: Military Wives!! Check out new site - "Ask the Milies..."

Hello blog Ohana!!

I'm so excited to finally be revealing a project that's been in the works for quite some time now. For the past few months I've had the opportunity to get to know some pretty amazing military wives via blog world. Well one amazing military wife resides at "ACU's, Stiletto Shoes and Pretty Pink Tutus:" her name's Mrs.G.I.Joe.

We've decided to create a blog called "Ask the Milies" where military wives can go to ask ANY question they'd like to have answered but never felt comfy or couldn't be bothered or was just to overwhelmed or too shy to ask.

It's a site dedicated to making sure you feel comfy being a military wife. There are SOOO many of us who enter the military lifestyle not knowing what to expect and thinking that our needs, wants and thoughts will always be taken into consideration only to be blindsided with the various rules and stress the military can place on a family. Don't get me wrong, being a military wife is an absolute honor and pleasure but it can be a little intimidating at times.

Our goal is to break down all barriers no matter the branch affiliation or rank of our husbands. After all, we are all connected.

At "Ask the Milies" no question is off limits and even though we're not representing any part of the government we feel that our experiences with the military thus far kind of gives us some insight to what we're talking about, lol. We will make sure that whatever question asked will get an accurate and detailed answer.

So if you're a military wife or you know any military wives, please head on over to "Ask the Milies" and see for yourself what it's all about.

Our official launch date will be June 10th but we'd love to have some Q & A's posted up for others to see so please submit your questions for us to answer now!

This is something near and dear to my heart so any support you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure to grab our button and post it up on your blogs!

Wordful Wednesdays - "Gone but not forgotten..."

Wordful Wednesdays is brought to you by Angie from Seven Clown Circus.
Click on the button below to link up and play along!

"Gone but not forgotten..."

(Sorry if these shots are hard to view)

A couple of days ago I was heading to the commissary on base and part of the parking lot was blocked off. There were 3 bus loads filled with Marines and I initially thought they were returning home from a deployment until I looked closer and saw all the wives crying and wiping tears from their eyes. Their husbands were being deployed. :(

It breaks my heart every time I see buses like these around the base. The optimist in me always hopes and wishes that they're here to bring the troops home but often times it's not that way.
I hate war, I hate the fact that while I'm sitting here writing this post, there's a Marine wife crying herself to sleep or trying to explain to her kids why daddy's gone or trying to figure out how she's gonna get her household chores done while the kids are up.

Even though it's a really personal moment, I had to share what exactly I experience on any given day on this base and what A LOT of other military wives are experiencing as well.

Please send up a quick little prayer for ALL the troops who are currently fighting for us to have sweet dreams and sleep tight every night.

Happy Hump Day everyone!

Inspirational Mondays - "Don't Let People Label You"

Start off your week with a little Inspiration!

"Throughout life, people are constantly telling us what we can or cannot become and what we have or don’t have. It’s just like they’re sticking a label on us: too short, too slow, too old, too many mistakes, not talented enough. These labels are not what God says about us. If we don’t know any better, we will wear them like they're the truth, and it limits what God wants to do in our lives. But understand, people don’t determine our destiny; God does.

If you’re going to rise to the next level and become everything God has created you to be, remove every label that is holding you back. You are not what people label you. You are what God labels you. God labels you, “chosen, forgiven, restored, redeemed, valuable, a masterpiece.” When you remember what God says about you, those wrong labels will not be able to stick, and you will see God’s victory in your life!" - Joel Osteen

I hope you all put this message to good use. Brush your shoulders off and have a prosperous and blessed week everyone!

Happy Monday to ya! :)

Mission Monkey

I usually keep my Friday posts funny and lighthearted but decided to switch it up this week because my heart is breaking for yet another family whose child has been diagnosed with cancer. Yes the big C.

It frustrates me how much hurt and pain this disease has caused and continues to cause. In a perfect world kids wouldn't get harmed at all. To think that they have to deal with such a terrible disease that attacks their poor little bodies makes me so very sad.

The family with this recent devastation is Michelle Pixie from www.mypixiedreams.com and her precious little daughter "Monkey." Monkey was diagnosed with brain cancer and is ONLY 16 months old. Gosh just writing those words totally sucks. Even though I don't know Michelle personally, we connect as a fellow mom and blogger.

I'm sending up TONS of prayers for precious Monkey. I'm hoping you all will do the same.

To read up more about Mission Monkey or to show some love and support, please check out Michelle's blog @ www.mypixiedreams.com.

Click on Monkey's picture above to donate whatever you can to help provide treatment for her. Every little bit counts!

Wordful Wednesdays - "Picture Perfect"

It's Wordful Wednesday !
Link up @ Angie's Spot to post your own Wordful Wednesday pics!

Since I'm coming off of my Mother's Day high, I decided to dedicated this week's pic. to my 3 heartbeats!

Hey look it's mi familia chilling on Mother's Day! I LOVE this picture of the kiddies and I. They make my job as a mom so easy. Seriously they do. God surely blessed me when he gave me these 3 precious kids. I couldn't sing their praises enough.

Sure they get into things I'd prefer they not get into and of course they say and do the strangest things from time to time but all in all, they're pretty good.

They laugh at my jokes even when they're really bad and they always know what to say to make me feel good about being a mom. I absolutely adore and love the fact that in the middle of hard core playing, they'll stop and say "Mommy!! I Love You!" It's the best thing to hear ever and always warms my heart.

They're just really good boys and they're cute too so I think I'll keep em. ;) I'm so proud to call them my own. They're really sweet and my love for them just continues to grow on a daily basis.

I love watching them grow and nurturing their dreams and passions.
I'm loving this part of my journey in life and can't wait to see where it takes me in the future. :)

Inspirational Mondays - "Thoughts"

Start off your week with a little inspiration.

Here's an inspirational quote to live by this week:

"You may believe that you are responsible for what you do, but not for what you think. The truth is that you are responsible for what you think, because it is only at this level that you can exercise choice. What you do comes from what you think." - "A Course of Miracles"

Happy Monday everyone!!

Have a blessed week :)
